Diversity and vulnerability of larval recruitment and metamorphosis strategies in marine fishes
As part of her second year Master’s degree in Ecophysiology and Ecotoxicology at Sorbonne University, Janice undertook a six-month internship within the EcoEvoDevoteam, in 2026, under the supervision of Laurence Besseau and Marc Besson in the EcoEvoDevo team.
This project focused on establishing a developmental table for the spiny chromis (Acanthochromis polyacanthus) and examining the effects of heavy metals on its embryonic development. It involved the study of embryotoxicity biomarkers such as mortality, pigmentation pattern formation, retinal development, cardiac development and heart rate, as well as swimming performance at hatching.
After her internship with us, Janice re-oriented her career as a talented baker!
