Josef Ferrand

Josef has a Master’s Degree in « Microbiologie, Environnement, Santé » from Sorbonne Université and the MNHN. He did his Master thesis at the Laboratoire de Biodiversité et Biotechnologies Microbiennes (LBBM), working on the thermal resilience of symbiotic Vibrio spp. strains from the cuttlefish Sepiola affinis. Josef joinded the EcoEvoDevo team in summer 2026 for a 2-month internship under the supervision of Marc Besson as part of the ANEMOBS project.

During his stay with us, Josef participates in the field monitoring of Anemonia viridis populations in the context of marine heatwaves (identification of the different color-morphs, tentacle sampling, monitoring of various biotic and abiotic parameters associated with the snakelocks anemone ecology).
