Emma did a 2-month research internship with us in 2023, during the first year of Master Degree at Université Paris Saclay (Master of Biodiversity, Ecology, and Evolution).

Her project focused on examining the behavioral visual preferences of two-banded seabreams (Diplodus vulgaris), cow breams (Sarpa salpa), ocellaris clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris), and spiny chromis (Acanthochromis polyacanthus) juveniles, when facing conspecific vs heterospecific visual cues. For this, she used double choice tanks to record the amount of time fish individuals spent near each visual cues, she then analyzed the videos using Shotcut and tracking softwares, and performed statistical analyses using R. Emma also helped us with the maintenance of our fish husbandry.

After her internship with us, Emma pursued her studies with a second year of Master Degree at Université Paris Saclay (Master of Biodiversity, Ecology, and Evolution).
