Emma Fennessy

Emma did a 2-month research internship with us in 2023 during her Bachelor Degree, as part of an exchange between Dalhousie University and Sorbonne Université.

She conducted analyses to examine the biometrics and pigmentation patterns of early larval two-banded sea breams (Diplodus vulgaris). For this, she took a central role in analyzing fish photos using an in-house Python script (openCV) and ImageJ to extract quantitative data about pigmentation patterns, as well as establishing new morphologic and pigmentation metrics to study the metamorphis kinetics for this fish species.

After her internship with us, Elise went on to National Research Council Canada for a research assistant position.
