SENSO
Sensory and chemical ecology of the mutualism between clownfishes and anemones
Arthur conducts a Master’s degree in Chemical Ecology at the University Jean Monnet in Saint-Etienne (France).
As part of his Master 2 Internship, Arthur is working with us in the EcoEvoDevo team. His research focuses on the metamorphosis of the anemonefish Amphiprion ocellaris. Arthur aims at better understanding the mechanisms that trigger this developmental process by analysing various morphological and physiological parameters through pigmentation pattern analyses and through hormonal assays and gene expression measurements. Arthur rears A. ocellaris larvae in the presence of mucus from host, non-host or artificial host anemones, in order to assess the influence of these chemical signals on metamorphosis triggering.
