Research

Arthur performed his Master 2 internship with us, in 2026, as part of his Master’s degree in Chemical Ecology at the University Jean Monnet in Saint-Etienne (France).

His research focused on the metamorphosis of the anemonefish Amphiprion ocellaris. Arthur’s internship aimed at better understanding the mechanisms that trigger this developmental process by analysing various morphological and physiological parameters through pigmentation pattern analyses and through hormonal assays and gene expression measurements. Arthur reared A. ocellaris larvae in the presence of mucus from host, non-host or artificial host anemones, in order to assess the influence of these chemical signals on metamorphosis triggering.

After his internship with us, Arthuer pursued his studies by attending to a second Master in Bioinformatics.
