Elise did a 2-month research internship with us in 2024 during her Bachelor Degree, as part of an exchange between Dalhousie University and Sorbonne Université.

She conducted analyses to examine the biometrics and pigmentation patterns of early larval two-banded sea breams (Diplodus vulgaris). For this, she took a central role in the sampling of larval fishes in the field, the photography of larval seabreams using a stereomicroscope, and the analysis of fish photos using an in-house Python script (openCV) and ImageJ to extract quantitative data about pigmentation patterns. Elise also helped us with the maintenance of our fish husbandry.

After her time in our team, Elise went on to SeaScovery for another internship.
